Texture Mapping in Maya

  • Create an object
  • Change tab to rendering and also change to Hardware texturing.
  • Right click on object, go to assigned new material and then Phonge E (simple texture that allows you to add colour wrap images around an object)
  • Click on tiny box next to colour (opens up new window)
  • Then go to file and click on view
  • Select the file you want and then import it and the image should wrap itself around the object

This screen shots shows a basic object with an image wrapped around it.
