Today we downloaded a sample 3D model to get a feel for animating a character in Maya. It was pretty easy to do considering we just played around with the 3D model that was basically ready for animation. The key thing to animate in Maya is to construct a Rig, which acts like a skeleton for a 3D model. That is going to be our next challenge in the next maya session.

Here is a clip of  the animation I did.

Maya has many different areas of specific work such as, modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging and animating. We have had the opportunity to work in all those areas of maya to get feel a feel of what they are like. So far, I have found animating to be my favorite out of all them.
